About me
Danielle McCulloch is a Fish and Wildlife Biologist in the Northeast Region’s Delaware Bay Coastal Program, and is located in the New Jersey Field Office. She works on large-scale coastal resilience and restoration projects in New Jersey, that enhance coastal habitats for the benefit of trust resources and coastal communities. Her expertise is in planning, implementing, monitoring and facilitating nature-based solutions to flood mitigation and coastal degradation issues. Before joining the Service 6 years ago, she was a marine scientist in Virginia, researching aquatic species, restoration tactics, and ecosystem services of habitats in the estuarine environments of the Chesapeake Bay at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science. She is passionate about using the best available science to enhance coastal resilience, connecting people to Service work, facilitating productive communication, and forming interdisciplinary partnerships. She has enjoyed mentoring interns, research assistants, students, and employees throughout her career. Danielle is also an instructor for the Service’s Motorboat Operator Certification Course. She has found a home with the U.S. FWS, where she appreciates the collaborative environment and the opportunities to do her best work. She credits much of her success to the mentors in her life and looks forward to supporting others as they forge their own rewarding career paths. Being outdoors energizes Danielle most, and she loves hiking, camping, boating, the beach, scuba diving with her partner, and long woodsy walks with her enormous fuzzy St. Bernard, Aylah.
